一般描述
GVBE是用于补体测定的等渗缓冲液，用于在孵育结束时添加时防止补体激活或停止正在进行的补体激活（Morgan，BP（2000）; Dodds，AW和Sim，RB（1997））。
缓冲组件
在该缓冲液中使用EDTA来螯合钙和镁，从而通过所有三种途径抑制补体活化。Veronal用作缓冲液，因为在20世纪中期，这是pH范围7.2-7.4的适合缓冲液，其不螯合金属离子并且不像其他缓冲液那样抑制补体反应。存在氯化钠以提供等渗环境，使得细胞不会由于渗透压而溶解。存在明胶以防止由于在稀释期间和在测定本身中吸附到或管上而导致的蛋白质组分的损失。 存在叠氮化物以防止细菌生长。
